China's textile exports have grown since this year.In the first 11 months of 2021, China's garment exports increased by 25.4 percent year on year, and the export scale of Chinese national textile products exceeded US 30 billion for the first time.
According to China customs statistics, from January to November 2021, the export of Chinese clothing (including clothing accessories, the same below) was US 159.27 billion, up 25.4 percent year on year, up 15.9 percent over the same period in 2019, hitting a new high in the same period since 2015.In the first three quarters of this year, China's garment exports grew at 47.4 percent , 35.7 percent and 9.6 percent , respectively.Since the fourth quarter, the growth rate of clothing exports has recovered significantly compared with the third quarter. In October, exports were US 16.94 billion, up 25 percent year on year; and in November, US 15.92 billion, up 23.6 percent year on year.
Knitting clothing made a high contribution rate to export growth, and the export of woven clothing rose rapidly.Data show that in the first 11 months of 2021, China's knitwear exports reached us 68.11 billion, up 43.1 percent year on year, up 23.2 percent from the same period in 2019, and the export unit price increased by 8.7 percent year on year.About two-thirds of the overall growth in clothing exports came from knitwear.Exports of woven clothing were US 61.29 billion, up 12.1 percent year on year, 6.1 percent over the same period in 2019, and export unit price increased 18.1 percent year on year.Since October, woven clothing exports have grown rapidly, rising by more than 25 percent for two consecutive months.
Data show that in the first 11 months of this year, China's export of traditional Chinese medicine protective clothing reached us 7.12 billion, down 55.7 percent year on year, and medical gloves exports reached us 9.8 billion, up 24.5 percent year on year.
Since this year, China's clothing exports to major markets have maintained high growth, and exports to the United States slowed down in November.Data show that from January to November 2021, China's clothing exports to the United States, the European Union and Japan rose 38.1 percent , 22.6 percent and 8.5 percent , respectively, ASEAN, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, 26.6 percent , 30.6 percent and 11.7 percent respectively, and Russia fell 4.2 percent and 0.6 percent respectively."One third of the growth in Chinese garment exports in the first 11 months was from exports to the US, but China's export growth to the US slowed sharply to 11.1 percent in November, 12.5 percentage points lower than global export growth."And the relevant person in charge of the Garment Branch of China Textile Import and Export Commerce said.
What trend will China's garment exports show in 2022?In this regard, the relevant officials of the Garment Branch of China Textile Import and Export Association believes that in the first quarter and the first half of 2022, the impact of Ophiron virus is difficult to judge, overseas capacity recovery, the first half, the advance orders will continue, the limited space for domestic production capacity increase, rising cost, labor shortage, energy supply and domestic demand growth may cross-affect Chinese garment export.
With the growth of China's garment exports, in the first 11 months of this year, the production capacity of China National textile industry was fully released, and China's national textile exports have always maintained rapid growth.Data show that from January to November 2021, the export of China National textile products reached US 31.3 billion, up 28.7 percent from the same period last year and 22.3 percent from the same period in 2019."Exports in the first 11 months have already surpassed the all-time high of 28.3 billion for all-year 2014, breaking the 30 billion mark for the first time.Although the export scale reached a record high, the main enterprises reported that since the fourth quarter, corporate profits have narrowed significantly, mainly squeezed by the factors of production costs and high international logistics costs."And the relevant person in charge of the Home Textile Branch of the China Textile Import and Export Commerce said.
In the first 11 months of 2021, exports of high value-added bedding, curtains and blankets led the rapid growth of more than 28 percent , and the growth rate of towels and kitchen products was relatively low, with a growth rate of 16 percent to 23 percent .
Since this year, North America, Latin America and ASEAN have led the recovery of international market demand.Data show that in the first 11 months of 2021, the export of China National textile products to the major global markets has maintained rapid growth.Among them, the market demand of the US and Europe is booming, and the export of China textile products to the US is 10.71 billion, up 31.6 percent year on year; the export of China textile products to the EU is 4.22 billion, up 27.9 percent year on year.It is worth noting that in November, the cumulative growth rate of China-China textile products to the United States and European markets fell, down 4.4 and 2.1 percentage points respectively.From the perspective of intercontinental market, in the first 11 months, exports of Chinese national textile products to Latin America increased rapidly by 78.3 percent , exports to North America and ASEAN grew rapidly, both above 31 percent ; exports to Oceania were relatively slow, with an increase of 18.8 percent .
